Homemade pound cake recipes




A recipe of the cake «Mouldering stump».

To bake a cake you need :

Flour :

4 glasses
· 1 litre of sour cream
· 2 glasses of sugar

· 1 egg
· 1 tea-spoon of soda, slaked with vinegar
· 2 soupspoons of margarine
· jam or jelly
· grated chocolate
· waffle crumb ( wafer crumb)
· vanilla

Making a cake:

· to mix 1 glass of sour cream with 1 glass of sugar and an egg, add soda and flour. Dough must be untirmly. To divide dough into 4 parts. To roll every part in the form of rectangle.
· To smear on all rectangles with jam , to roll every rectangle. To bake in an oven at temperature 180-200 Celsius and then to cool.
· To prepare cream: to puff up sour cream ( the rest of the dough) with 1 glass of sugar and vanilla.
· To cut across swiss-rolls into 2 cantimetres pieces ,to lay them on the dish smeared with cream. Abundantly to smear with every layer cream. To take away in the cold for hardening.
· To sprinkle a cake with the grated chocolate or waffle crumb. You can adorn the cake with berries from preserves.

Pastries «Strawberry».

Prepared on this recipe pastries, ideally will walk up for child's holiday.

For pastries of preparation may need:
· 500 gramme of any shortbread
· 400-500 gramme of waffles with filling ( that were a bit acidulous)
· 1-1,5 glass of sour cream
· sugar
· beet
Preparation:

Dough:

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 glass of sugar
  • 1 glass of sour cream
  • 100 grammes of condensed milk
  • a half of a tea-spoon of bicarbonate of soda
  • a pinch of vanilla
  • 2 glasses of flour
Making a cake:





  1. To beat up eggs with sugar to increasing twice.
  2. To mix sour cream with the condensed milk in a pan; add a half of tea-spoon of bicarbonate soda and a pinch of vanilla. Then add beated up eggs with sugar and flour. Mix well to have homogeneous mass. Dough must be like as the thick sour cream. Bake one scone at 180 C about 60 minutes. When the layer of a cake is cold, cut it into 3 thin parts to have 3 layers.
  3. Cream: Mush eggs, sugar and butter to have a light mass. Scald lemons with boiling water. Grate a lemon peel, squeeze juice out, then mix it with eggs mass. Make cream on a faint fire, stir it constantly till it will be thick as honey.
  4. Put cold layers of a cake on the dish. Cover each layer of a cake with cream. Put one layer on the other. Cover all the cake with cream on either sides. Strew the top of the cake with cake- crumbs.
  5. The cake needs to draw for 6-8 hours.

Honey Cake.

Ingredients:

  • 6 eggs
  • 2 glasses of sugar ( 1 glass contains 200 grammes of sugar )
  • 3 table- spoons of thin honey
    1 tea - spoon of soda
    10-20 nuts , shell them
    3 glasses of flour

First, you need to prepare: eggs, sugar, honey, soda, flour and shell nuts.
Take a deep plate to knead dought ( mix dough ) .Put 3 glasses of flour into the plate. Add 2 glasses of sugar, shelling nuts, 3 table-spoons of thin honey, 1 tea-spoon of soda.Break 6 eggs and put them into the plate too. Mix all ingredients with a table-spoon to make dough. ( Dough must be thin). Put the plate with dough in the cold ( room, fridge…) for 2 hours.Then take dough and divide it into 4 parts ( to have 4 scones ).Oil an oven pan.Put 1 part of dough on the oven pan and helping with a spoon make a thin scone an the pan . Bake 4 dry biscuits ( scones ).
Making cream:
Take 1 glass of sugar, 1 litre of sour cream. Mix or beat up them ( but do not have foam).Put the cream lavishly on each dry scone and make a cake. The cake must be permeated with cream.Decorate your cake with pieces of chocolate, pieces of oranges, cherries and so on ( the way you like ).

Bird's Milk




Ingredients to make a cake:
6 eggs
sugar - 3 spoonfulls
flour - 3 spoonfulls
a ground white loaf - 2 spoonfulls
baking powder - 1 tea-spoon ( or soda)
cocoa - 2 spoonfulls

Making and baking of the cake.

  1. Take 6 eggs.
  2. Separate whites and yolks.
  3. Beat up 6 whites of eggs to foam.
  4. Add 3 spoonfulls of sugar ( add sugar in one spoonfull ) and beat up.
  5. Add 6 yolks of eggs ( add in one yolk ) and mix lightly.
  6. Add 3 spoonfulls of flour. Mix flour with eggs and sugar.
  7. Grind up a piece of a roll to a powder.
  8. Add 1 teaspoon of a ground roll to the dough mass.
  9. Add 1 teaspoon of baking powder or soda ( soda must be slaked with vinegar ).
  10. Add 2 spoonfulls of cocoa.

Mix all ingredients with the help of a spoon. Oil the form for baking with butter. Put the dough in the form and set it into the warmed up oven.Bake one scone. When the scone is ready, take it out of the oven. The scone must get cold.

Make the cream for the cake.

  • butter - 250 grammes
  • icing sugar - 1 glass
  • semolina - 3 spoonfulls
  • milk - 1/2 of a litre

Stir butter together with icing sugar. Boil milk. Put 3 spoonfulls of semolina in milk. Boil it until it's ready. Then add cooked semolina in one spoon to butter. Stir well cooked semolina with butter. Put cream in a thick steady layer on the cool scone.

Take a bar of chocolate and melt it. Cover the cream with the thin chocolate. The chocolate on the cake must cool. Your cake is ready. Regale somebody with on your cake in one hour.


My Mother's Pound Homemade Fruitcake.
This is my mother's favourite recipe for fruitcake and everybody says it's out of this world!
  1. Put 3 cups of flour into a mixing bowl.
  2. Add 1 cup of sugar.
  3. Slice 3 apples.
  4. Cut up 2 oranges.
  5. Pour in 3 spoonfuls of honey.
  6. Add a little of baking soda.
  7. Chop up 10 nuts.
  8. Add a little of salt.
  9. Mix in 100 grammes of raisins.
  10. Smear the baking form with oil.
  11. Pour out the dough into the baking pan (the baking form).
  12. Bake for 45 minutes.

Ingredients to make a dough:

  • 3 eggs
  • sour cream: 1 glass
  • soda: 1 teaspoon
  • sugar: 3/4 of a glass
  • butter ( or margarine ): 100 grammes
  • flour: 2.5-3 glasses

Separate whites of eggs from yolks. Take 1 teaspoon of soda and stir it in a glass of sour cream. Then take 3 whites of eggs, sour cream with soda, sugar, butter, flour and make a dough. The dough must not be thick but not very thin. Divide the dough to 6 parts. Then make 6 the thinest layers. Put each layer into the baking pan.Bake layers in a hot oven ( only some minutes every layer ). While the scones are cooling let's make the cream.

To make the cream you need:

  • milk: 1 litre
  • yolks: 3
  • sugar: 1.5 glasses
  • butter: 200 grammes
  • a pinch of vanilla

Take 3 fullspoons of white flour, mix it with some spoons of milk ( to have a thin mass ). Pour out this mass into the boiled milk and mix it lightly. Then pour out mixed yolks with sugar and a pinch of vanilla into the boiled milk ( to have a thin jelly). Put butter into the boiled milk and mix again. It will be a kind of cream. Let it gets cool a little.

Take 5 layers of a cake. Cover each layer with the cream. Cover with the cream on either sides of the cake too. Take one layer of the cake ( the sixth layer ) and crumb it . Then sprink the top of the cake with layer crumbs and nuts. Decorate the cake with berries.
